Remembrance Poppy Quilt
The Remembrance Poppy quilt is very special and is very close to our hearts as it was designed by drawing upon our own experiences with the military. As Craig is ex Military Police and has served in Iraq for three tours, it was important when designing that Craig drew the Poppy to recall his experiences of army life and to celebrate and remember his friends.
We have had the privilege over the years of talking to many former military personnel who were always so proud to share their experiences and their photos, usually black and white, which was why it was important to me to bring a modern yet monochrome look to the quilt to allow the Poppy to stand tall and proud. The single Poppy brings a reminder that our freedom hasn’t come without sacrifice and we remember and thank those who serve and have served for our freedom.
The quilt is easy and fun to make using half square triangles, easy piecing and a lovely applique poppy which allows a wonderful opportunity to free motion until your heart’s content.
