Crowned with Diamonds Quilt
This was a very special design for me personally as it was not long after a car accident, when the chips were down, I decided that when I recovered I would relaunch my sewing business. Due to not working for a little while and never running my own business, I needed a lot of help and advice as well as funding. I was successful in being awarded a Prince’s Trust Grant and met the most amazing Business Mentor, Roger Smith, through the Prince,s Trust. My grant paid for six sewing machines which allowed me the opportunity to teach classes and share my passion for sewing and teaching. The Crowned with Love Quilt was originally written to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee in 2022 and I thought It was important to keep the Coronation of King Charles III design similar to Crowned with Love so that both past and present monarchs are honoured.
Each of the nine blocks features four crowns and a double diamond in its centre, one for King Charles and one for his queen, Camilla . The blocks have been finished with an inner and outer sashing.
Although a large quilt, the pattern and diagrams have been designed to be accessible to a confident beginner.
The A5 pattern booklet offers easy to read and follow detailed cutting, sewing, quilting and binding step-by-step instructions with plenty of diagrams for the visual learner.
